KAMALPUR, MAY 28 (TIWN): Going at per with popular presumption, CPIM nominated Kamalpur Party Secretary Anjan Das as their candidate in the ensuing bye-election of 46 Surma (SC) Assembly Constituency. This announcement created much hope and enthusiasm among the Party workers and supporters for a huge win in the abode of CPIM. The former and deceased MLA of Surma Sudhir Das secured his uninterrupted five times win from 1993 to 2013 from the constituency. In the bye-election as every opposition Party announced to compete so the win of Anjan remained a matter of announcement, according to the political analysts.
Born on 11th January, 1973, Anjan started his political career joining SFI in 1989. He was elected as the SFI State Committee Vice President in 1993. He was the Chairperson of Salema Panchayat Samity for five years from 2004. In 2014 he became the Kamalpur Sub-divisional Secretary of CPIM. Now the Party added another feather in his crown by nominating him as the candidate. In academic career he has obtained Masters Degree in Political Science after obtaining Honours degree from Kailasahar Ramkrishna College.
