AGARTALA, May 27 (TIWN): Addressing the 117th birth anniversary of Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam programme at Agartala Rabindra Bhawan organised by the state school education department Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Tuesday called for fighting the ‘hinduvta’ forces across the nation. He said this has now become a country for the Birala and Ambani group but not for the common masses of the nation.

CM blaming the govt. at the centre said, “The Govt. at the centre has owned a strategy to call for ‘hinduvta’ and communalism through which it has been trying to divide the people of the nation in the name of religion.”

He said that some of the leaders are calling to attire the tag of Hinduism if they want to live in India, therefore this is a very dangerous move which would hamper the entire nation in future, said CM.

Sarkar also said that depriving a large section of people in the country the birala and the ambani groups are enjoying the freedom of the nation. “The country has now become a hub for the rich people and not for the poor,” Sarkar said. “The govt. at the centre is of anti-poor, anti-peasant and anti-working class,” Sarkar reiterated.

CM addressing the gathering during the 117th birth anniversary programme of Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam said that Kazi Nazrul Islam is known as the rebel poet of Bengal for his outstanding personality and fierce resistance to all forms of repression.

A remarkable poet and patriot, Kazi Nazrul Islam suffered a great deal during India's struggle for freedom. Out of this suffering was born a poetry which has immortalized both the poet and the causes dear to his heart.

Sarkar said that Kazi Nazrul Islam had left school and joined the Bengal Regiment with an aim to set the country free from the British rule.

However later CM Manik Sarkar praised the state school education department for arranging such programmes every year. Along with the entire nation, Tripura celebrated 117th birth anniversary of rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam in a befitting manner on Tuesday. Several programmes were being organised across the state to mark the day.
