AGARTALA, May 26 (TIWN): Highlighting the achievements and the initiatives of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Govt. at the center during its 1 year in rule at the nation Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday arriving here at the Left ruled state Tripura said, “The govt. at the centre aims to open sports center and skill development center at every block of the North eastern States including Tripura.” He said that that the main intention was to make the sports facilities available, particularly in the rural areas to encourage sports talent. Sonowal said there is tremendous potentiality among the youth of the northeastern region in every field, but due to lack of skill development, the potentialities are not shining. As part of the nationwide programme the BJJP Pradesh Committee here on Tuesday has celebrated one year Modi Governance chalking out several programmes. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal alongwith the BJP leaders from the centre and state joined the programme at Agartala Muktadhara. Addressing the gathering at Muktadhara auditorium hall Sonowal said, “With an aim to tag separate identity to the North eastern States of the country the present central govt. has sanctioned Rs. 28, 000 crore for the railway connectivity.” Adding to that he also said that Rs. 18, 000 crore has been allotted for the surface connectivity in NE including Tripura.

 A total of Rs. 53, 000 crore has been budgeted for the development of the entire North eastern region, said Sonowal. He said the BJP has assured that the party will leave no stone unturned to reverse the alleged stagnancy in development in North East during the last 10 years under UPA government.

But now people of North–East and Tripura can look forward to a new era of development.  The Modi government is a government which will be remembered for its zeal and commitment to development, he said.

However, Minister Sonowal also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his one year governance have succeeded providing good governance, security and development in the country.

“The entire north eastern region would be a hub of development under the regime of the BJP led NDA govt. at the centre,” Sonowal said on Tuesdaycelebrating the one year Modi Governance in Tripura.

Besides, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs – Sarbandan Sonowal inaugurated the exhibition titled ‘Saal Ek, Shuruaat Anek’ at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan. The exhibition highlighted different initiatives of the NDA government.
