AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): Meeting of the CPI-M State Committee began from Saturday i.e. May 23 at Melarmath party office. The meeting will continue up to May 24. Talking to TIWN, CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar said that, during the two dayÂlong meeting, the CPIÂ-M state committee leaders will review the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election results, bye Âelections in two constituencies Pratapgarh and Surma and forthcoming elections to various civic bodies including Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC).
Besides that preparatory, a meeting was held to celebrate the birth Anniversary of Late Chief Minister Dasarath Debbarman. Various organizational features of the party will also be discussed in the meet. After every two months, state committee organizes meeting and discuss various issues, Bijan Dhar further added.
It is to be mentioned that, despite several conspiracies and malicious campaigns against CPI-M and its Left front govt. by the opposition congress, the Left party has registered a massive victory in all the 28 seats relegating IPFT and BJP to distant second position.” In the 2010 Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election left front secured 63 percent votes, while this time it reduced to 53 percent.
Opposition parties like BJP got the second position in five seats with 7.87% votes, INPT got second position in seven seats with 10.77% votes and IPFT got second positions in the TTAADC elections in 16 seats by 18.06% votes. However but it is worthy to be mentioned here that IPFT’s 18.06% votes and a distant to the second position this year has of course issued the CPI-M and its Left front government which has swept the TTAADC poll 2015 by 34, 586 votes in all the 28 seats.
After the major win in TTAADC, the Left Front highlighted on the completed and ongoing developmental works under its government, creation of a healthy atmosphere in urban areas for capturing the upcoming Nagar Panchayat and Municipal Council election.
While the Left Front government is making sincere endeavours to provide more amenities to the urban people and generate jobs in spite of serious fund constraints, the anti-people policies pursued by the central government are having an adverse impact on the state.
