KHOWAI, 23 May (TIWN): Allegedly scam of Rs1.75 lakh is reported in the maintenance of school building of Ramgopal bari S.B. School at Khowai under Tulasikhar R.D. block on Saturday.

Reportedly an amount of Rs 1.75lakh was sanctioned from Tulasikhar R.D block for the renovation and maintenance of the school building.

The school presently has 3 class rooms comprising 24 students and 9 teachers for the students of class 6, 7, and 8. However, an Engineer Bidyut Deb was given the responsibility from the block for the construction of the school building. Interestingly, it was seen that the old school building was simply painted and few wooden ply were exchanged as matter of renovation and from nowhere such a big amount of money is implied for the renovation.

Localities alleged that the renovation was done for the namesake and no proper renovation was done for the school building.

However, Head Master of the Rangopal Bari School Nihar Ranjan Datta said that he has reported the issue to BAC Chairman Gurupada Debbarma in written 2 months back but so far no action is taken. He also informed the matter to Tulasikhar BDO Jogeshor Reang but the concerned authority is silent.

BDO Jogeshor Reang while talking to our reporter has agreed that even after receiving complain no action is taken and he will now look into the issue.   

Now question arises if only mere renovation was done where the big amount of Rs 1.75lakh has gone.
