AGARTALA, May 20 (TIWN): Chaotic situation emerges in the FCI godown located at A.D. Nagar area. Due to the boycott of the workers and the self wish of the workers to get engaged in work resulted in the problem of loading and unloading of rice and other essential commodities. However, both FCI and the Food Department plays negligent attitude towards solving the problems.

Sources of both the Food Department and the officials of the godown informed that they were well aware of the situation but the matter was behind their limitation. The problem emerges between FCI authorities and the workers regarding payment of wages.

It is to be mention that everyday 20-25 trucks were unloaded. But during last couple of days, only 4-5 trucks were loaded or unloaded. The workers work according to their wishes. On the other hand, the drivers of the vehicles complaint that in order to loading or unloading, the workers demanded Rs 1200 from them. If they refuse to pay the amount, process was hanged.

However, on the other side, the labourers of FCI, A.D.Nagar go-down, anguished that, for every bag, they got only two rupees. Due to the unloading of trucks at low amount, their livelihood falls in troubles, because they all are local daily laboureres. It is to be mention that due to the interrupted rail services from October 1st, for setting up of Lumbding-AgartalaBroad-gage line, the National Highway is the only solution.
