Agartala, Sep 4 (TIWN): After few hours, the State would also celebrate Teacher’s Day.Students from almost all corners of the state are all set to enjoy the dignity of the day in their respective schools.
On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, two teachers, Karuna Kanta Debbarma, Headmaster of Ramkeshab CP High School’s primary section and Arunangshu Lodh, PGT of Bodhjungnagar Girls’ HS School would be given national award. They have already left for the national capital to receive the award from President Pranab Mukherjee on September 5.
They have been chosen for the prestigious award for their tremendous contribution towards the teaching profession. Gour Gopal Bhattacharjee, Headmaster of DN Vidyamandir of Dharmanagar has been selected for the prestigious Pandit Iswarchandra Vidyasagar Samman award in the state, according to official sources.
He will be awarded by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar at a function to mark this year’s Teachers’ Day celebration to be held in Town Hall here on September 5. Besides, 22 more teachers would be felicitated on the Teachers’ Day celebration programme.
The main programme will be organized at Town Hall where Chief Minister will inaugurate the programme. Higher Education Minister Bhanu Lal Saha, Social Welfare Minister Bijita Nath, AMC Chairperson Dr. Prafullajit Sinha, Chief Secretary Dr. SK Panda and Director of School Education PK Chakravarty will remain present in the programme. The programme will be presided over by School Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty.
