AGARTALA, May 7 (TIWN): The newly elected members of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) is all set to take an oath on May 17 at Khumlwung ADC Head quarter, source said.

However, according to the source on behalf of Governor of the state Law Secretary Data Mohan Jamatia would administer the oath taking ceremony on May 17. Besides, it has also been learnt that the first crucial meeting of the tribal district council would be held on May 18 with all the elected members of the council.

The source on Thursday also confirmed that there would be no change with the Chief Executive Member and Executive Member this time.

Talking to TIWN on Thursday current Executive Member of TTAADC Radha Charan Debbarma said, ““This time our priority shall be to maintain the prevailing peaceful condition in the State and maintain the pace of development activities going on throughout the State.”

Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI -M)) led Left Front created electoral history by winning all the 28 seats that went to polls in Tripura on May 3.

However it is to be mentioned here that the maiden session of the sixth council of Tripura Autonomous District Council was held on 2010 May 19 after administering oath of office to all eight councilors headed by Chief Executive Member (CEM) Ranjit Debbarma.

All 27 elected members of the 30-member Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) took oath followed by senior tribal Leftist leader Mangsajai Mog as Chairman.

Left Front had re-nominated Mr Debbarma for the third term as CEM.

It is worthy to be mentioned here that like 2010 ADC poll this time also the opposition Congress and Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura could not make it to the ADC and has failed to keep any challenge before the ruling CPI-M.

Besides, unlike last election to TTAADC, the IPFT and newly emerged BJP has been distant to second position.
