Agartala/ New Delhi, May 6 (TIWN): Tripura Lok Sabha MP Jiten Chaudhury on Tuesday during proceedings requested Centre to release funds for more Kendriya Vidyalaya and Novodoya Vidyalayas in every district of Tripura.

Lok Sabha MP Jiten Chaudhury said "Being the policy of the Central Government to set up at least one Kendriya Vidyalaya and one Novodoya Vidyalaya to each District of the country has been found laudable, which has created opportunity for a bunch of students from all strata to persue their studies under CBSE Course and in the midst of cosmopolitan atmosphere. Apart from the above this arrangement has immensely helped the children of the Central Government employees from being ejected from their courses, while their parents are transferred to other region.

In Tripura State, till today there are only 6(six) Kendriya Vidyalayas at Agartala and ONGC Colony in West Tripura, at  Ambassa in Dhalai District , at Kailashahar in Unakoti District,  at Panisagar in North Tripura District and Bogafa in South Tripura District.  Out of 8(eight) Districts in Tripura, 3(three) Districts i.e.; Khowai District, Sepoyjola District and Gomati District are yet to be covered under Kendriya Vidyalaya scheme.

With regard to Novodaya Vidyalayas, till today 3(three) schools has only been established in Tripura State at Ramchandra Ghat in Khowai District, at 82 Miles in Dhalai District and at Udaipur in Gomati District. The residual 5(five) Districts i.e.; South Tripura, West Tripura, Sepoyjola, Unakoti and North Tripura are yet to be covered under this scheme.

This is my earnest request to the Ministry of Human Resource Development Development to consider to set up 3(three) more Kendriya Vidyalaya and 5(five) more Novodoya Vidyalaya on priority to the uncovered Districts that the children of far flung areas of Tripura are benefitted for their studies with the facilities of national standard at their door step at affordable cost. This is very much important for a State like Tripura, located at the distant corner of the country.
