AGARTALA, May 5 (TIWN): CPI(M) leader Radahacharan Debbarma is all set to be the next CEM of TTAADC replacing Ranjit Debbarma, if party insiders are to be believed. The second most powerful member of the 6th TTAADC after CEM Ranjit Debbarma, Radhacharan who fought the ADC election from Jirania (ST) constitutency in the recently concluded TTAADC election is the most prefered name that is doing the round in the CPI(M) corridors of Melarmath party office here.It may be mentioned here that Radhacharan, who held the School Education, Sports & Youth Affairs, and Kokborok Indigenous Language Research Department in the 6th TTAADC Executive Committee was considered a better choice for the top most post in the TTAADC replacing veteran Ranjit Debbarma.Ranjit Debbarma contested the ADC election from the Ramchandraghat( ST) constituency, which saw a considerable challenge from the rival IPFT candidate in the election. Though the result of the 7th TTAADC election will come to light on May 6 when the sealed EVMs will be opened for counting, the political analysts are of the firm believe that the ruling CPI(M) alliance will secure the absolute majority in the TTAADC election withstanding the pressure from resurgent IPFT.

Amidst lack of coordination among the opposition parties, the CPI(M) was able to give much confidence among the tribal voters in the ADC election this year which just paved the way for the left parties in securing thumping win in the hill election, claims the political pundits here.

The opposition may at best expect to win two seats in the 7th TTAADC election owing to the MGNREGA mismanagement by the Manik Sarkar Govt. and the rise in popularity of the IPFT owing to the Twipraland issue, claims the political analysts here.

Loss of even a single TTAADC seat will be seen as the failure of the Manik Sarkar led CPI(M) here and that will have a serious impact on Mr. Sarkar’ much talked about capacity to lead the party in the state, believes the poll pundits here.
