Poll violence: Police registered case against 10 CPI-M cadres

KHOWAI, May 5 (TIWN): Khowai Champahaor Police on Sunday registered a case against 10 CPI-M cadres on charge of attacking on NCT supporters. NCT candidate for Khowai Kulai Champahaor 10 No. seat Sanjit Debbarm,a on Sunday night lodged a complaint with the police against CPI-M leader Saradeep Debbarma and other 10 cadres.

NCT candidate Sanjit Debbarma alleged that on Sunday night after the voting for tribal district council ended a group of CPI-M cadres under the leadership of leader Saradeep Debbarma acting on behest of CPI-M candidate Madhumita Debbarma made an entrance to NCT worker Monika Debbarma’s house and attacked on her.

The accused cadres also alleged that they had made an attack on her parents also on Sunday night at around 10:00 PM.

However later on 11:00 PM Sanjit lodged a complaint with the Champahaor police against them.

However besides, it has been alleged that on the day of poll at around 12:00 PM CPI-M leader Saradeep Debbarma along with his partner had threatened polling agents assigned by the opposition parties inside the polling booth and let them out from the polling center – 13/14 Joggocobra.

On the sideline of another issue, Tripura People’s Party (TPP) candidate for 10 No. Khowai Kulai Champahaor Bijoy Debbarma after the poll ended on Sunday stated, “This year maximum vote of CPI-M would go to the vote bank of TPP and NCT, because most of the youths of CPI-M were found depressed with the policy and role of the ruling CPI-M.”

After the announce of the poll schedule, Bijoy Debbarma left his party CPI-M and joined TPP.
