AGARTALA, May 2 (TIWN): On yet another hurdle on the investigation of Kalpana Das murder case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the state govt. has reportedly not yet received the forensic report of the recently recovered two sharp weapons.According to a police source, after the recovery of the weapons those were sent to the laboratory for forensic tests in order to reveal if those were used during the murder of Kalpana Das.The source said, “Police has not yet received the forensic report and this has brought another hurdle to the investigation process.” He said that as of now some more clues has been collected during the interrogation to the 4 accused persons including expelled CPI-M leader Jiten Das.“But Jiten is still dogging the investigators and giving irrelevant statements", a source told to TIWN on Friday. Jiten was sent to Jail Custody till May 8, but since after he was arrested the ‘blue eyed’ Jiten has not provided satisfactory statements to the investigators, that has of course hurdled the investigation to crack down the case.Besides, the police source on Friday told to TIWN that Jiten and his brothers, nephew were recently grilled at Bishalgarh Central Jail. “But the investigators are unable to collect any major clues from him as Jiten said he has no idea about the recovered sharp cutting weapons,” source said.

The two sharp cutters were recovered from backyard of Jiten Das’ house near the river at Ranirbazar. Police suspect the weapons were used during the murder but those were sent to the forensic laboratory for further tests.

However but it is worthy to mention here that since from the beginning the police allegedly diminished several evidences that would have brought a major development to the case. It was alleged that police during the investigation to the case avoiding several clues and evidences moved forward to arrest the alleged mastermind Jiten Das.

“The clueless police intentionally has taken no evidence on the very first day of the murder incident,” alleged opposition leader earlier. He said, “Evidences that would have bring a major development to the case was intentionally avoided in order to hush up the case and rescue Jiten Das.” The leader also claimed that on the very day after the incident took place the  place of occurrence was not protected by the police as a result the police led the evidences to get diminished, alleged the Congress leader.

However though it’s a time now to witness what further stapes the police takes to bring a development o the case, because the accused persons including Jiten would be produced before the court again on May 8.
