CEO S K Rakesh : Decks readied for 7.58 lakh voters to cast ADC vote on May 3

AGARTALA, May 1 (TIWN): The state election commission has made the decks all set for the general election to Tripura Tribal Areas and Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) for 28 seats scheduled to held on May 3. A total of 7.58 lakhs voters to exercise their franchise, said State Chief Election Commissioner (CEO) SK Rakesh on Friday.

Talking to the reporters here at the civil secretariat on Friday CEO S K Rakesh said, “All the necessary arrangements has been made so far for the ADC poll with 7.58 lakhs voters to exercise their franchise on May 3, 2015.”

“There are a total of 175 candidates of various political parties for 28 seats to ADC whereas there are 6000 polling personnel,” adding Rakesh said, “A total of 165 sector officers have been readied for the poll on May 3.”

However, later briefing about the status of the polling booths Rakesh said, “There are 1070 polling booths in all across the entire ADC areas of the state.” He also said that 79 booths had fallen in ‘A’ category, 360 under ‘B’ category and 631 under ‘C’ category that is normal.

There are a total of 360 sensitive booths. Rakesh said on May 2 all the assigned polling personnel would move to their destination.

However, he further said that earlier during the initial identification there were a total of 1071 polling booths, but later on the final report it was found that amongst those 1071 one booths has fallen under non-ADC area, form where a total of 684 voters were deleted later with the final figure of the polling booths rests at 1070.

Election to the ADC would be held on May 3, 2015. Counting of votes would be on May 6.
