KAILASAHAR, May 1 (TIWN): Reacting sharp to the statement of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar at Pecharthal on Wednesday, Congress Chief Birajit Sinha on Thursday claimed, “CPI-M in wake of the general election to TTAADC has been staging a malicious campaign against the opposition.”

Sinha alleged, “CPI-M in wake of the ADC poll is on a spree of cash dole to the ADC voters.”

Sarkar on Wednesday alleged that while constituting the ADC in Tripura the opposition congress had opposed it. Sarkar stated this during election campaign at Pecharthal, said Sinha.

Sinha was addressing the media persons at Kailasahar on Thursday holding a press conference.

Putting stress on his claim on Thursday Sinha said, “Under the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi during the year 1984 a bill was passed at the Loksabha for constituting the ADC, but on the very day two CPI-M MPs remained present.” However Sinha demanded CM Manik Sarkar to clarify this to the ADC voters.

He said that if the congress comes in power in ADC this year than a direct funding for the ADC would be proposed at the centre, and the congress would also seek for a sufficient budget from the centre over the all development to the ADC here in Tripura.

However, in the elections to the TTAADC declared to be held on May 3, Congress Chief Birajit Sinha on Thursday hoped that the opposition congress gain a momentum in the ADC this year.
