TTAADC Election campaign to end on Friday: Mock Poll held at different places: Preparation to conduct the election

AGARTALA, May 1 (TIWN): The public campaign for TTAADC Election will end on Friday. All the political parties on a last minute time had tried heart and soul to reach their voice to every section of the people. Political parties in Tripura, Congress, CPI­M, Trinamool Congress, BJP, INPT, IPFT and other parties at the same time gears up for forthcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election in favour of their candidates.

On the other hand, Mock poll was constituted at every places to instruct the various employees connected with the election. Recently the postal balloting and EVM Commissioning had ended in various districts and subdivisions.

While political parties  left no stone unturned, Tripura marching forward in the rural Tripura especially in the ADC areas to mark its election edge by inaugurating several office buildings, school buildings, arranging basic facilities for the indigenous people across the state to bring them under the banner of the CPI (M). Besides, according to the political analysts, ADC election drawing near might have brought another tense time for the left front govt with its toll in corruption and scams in the block level. When block level corruptions has already standing tall in the state, on the other hand CPI (M) might be in a long run to retain its clean image that has already been strained with corruptions.

 It is to be mentioned here that a section of the people of the state might have been awaken up to the corruptions and scams under the regime of the left front govt. Not only that the construction of houses under Indira Abas Yojna, Distribution of Patta, creation of work under MGnReGA scheme and various other measures were adopted by the CPIM Cadres to stage their victory.

Besides, the police administration is also preparing a massive security arrangement to conduct the TTAADC polls in a peaceful atmosphere, said a source. However in the upcoming TTAADC Election, 16 observers had been appointed in the 28 district council constituencies for smooth election process. The office of the Election Commissioner of the Zilla Parishad had issued this notice.

It is to be mention here that the TTAADC election will be conducted on May3 where, 58,554 voters including 3, 75,117 women are eligible to exercise their franchise. Counting will be held on May 6," The TTAADC was formed in January 1982 under the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution and later its powers were promoted by amending the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution in August 1984 to protect and safeguard the political, economic and cultural interests of the tribals. The tribal council constitutes two third of the state territory and home to the tribals who form one third of the population.

Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) Act 1979 was passed by the Indian parliament after a series of democratic movements launched by the Indigenous people of Tripura. The principle objective behind setting up the Autonomous District Council is to empower the Indigenous people to govern themselves and also to bring all round developments of the backward people so as to protect and preserve their culture, customs and traditions.
