AGARTALA, April 30 (TIWN): On yet another embarrassment for the Left front govt. here in Tripura, a stern allegation is raised against forest officer Prabir Bhattacharjee for illegally acquiring land of BSNL authority and building house without the prior approval of the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC).

Talking to TIWN in this regard a higher level official confirming the allegation said, “We have received an allegation against forest officer Prabir Bhattacharjee recently, but it was found that he has acquired the land of BSNL authority illegally situated at Melarmath near CPI-M Party office.”

However, but most surprisingly it has been learnt that the BSNL authority has taken no action against Bhattacharjee even after he has been found living here at the illegally built house since couple of years.

He also said, “Prabir Bhattacharjee who is a forest officer is a very mischievous person and several other allegation hangs against him now.” He said there is also an allegation against him for influencing the vigilance report of the state govt. on forest department.

Besides, talking to TIWN DM West Abhishek Singh said, “We have asked the BSNL authority recently to take an action against the illegally acquiring of the land.” Also said that taking action by the BSNL authority first is a matter of concern now, but the AMC would take action against Bhattacharjee very soon, Singh told  to TIWN.

However it is to be mentioned here that an allegation has been raised against at least 4 forest officials including Prabir Bhattacharjee for influencing the vigilance report of the forest department. Besides, it was alleged that the forest officers are engaged selling the jobs under forest department.

It has now become a matter of concern with the alleged corrupt officials under the state forest department are busy making a hefty profit by an illegal business. Whereas on the other it has also been learnt that the state govt. had recently asked the department to take an action against the officials against whom the allegations has been rose.

But it would again be worthy enough to say here that the allegation against Manik Sarkar’s corrupt officer Prabir Bhattacharjee has kept no time left for the Left front govt. here in Tripura to bring another embarrassment.
