AGARTALA, April 29 (TIWN): On yet another development to the expelled CPI-M leader Jiten Das’ wife Kalpana Das murder case, police managed to recover two sharp weapons suspected to be used to kill Kalpana. The investigating agency is tight lipped to the case and is yet to some relevant clues to crack down the case, said police source on Wednesday.

On a telephonic conversation with TIWN on Wednesday a source from police confirmed that the investigating agency had recovered 2 sharp cutting weapons from the pond water at Ranirbazar near expelled CPI-M leader Jiten Das house.

The source also said, “Police is verifying the recovered weapons now to reveal if those were used during the murder of Kalpana Das on April 14 night.” Adding to that the source told though the arrested Jiten Das wife of the deceased Kalpana Das has brought some output to the case, but police is yet to get some relevant clues that would help to crack the case soon.

Besides, if the recovered weapons are found to have used during the murder incident than it would bring a major development to the case and would further help the police to detain the main culprits of the case, source indicated.

Asked about the status of the interrogation of another suspect of the case Shibani Das, the source on Wednesday told to TIWN Shibani has given some clues to the police but are not sufficient enough to go deep in the murder case.

But, the investigation agency is on a move interrogating many others who are suspected to be involved to the case. “The main culprits involved to the case would be detained very soon,” said source.

However it is worthy to be mentioned here that so far the police investigation agency assigned to the case had failed to bring out the main motive behind the murder of Kalpana Das.

Currently the police is interrogating the “blue eyed” Jiten Das, and other three at jail. They would be produced before the court again on May 8.
