AGARTALA, April 25 (TIWN): Aiming to empower the tribal people, the BJP Pradesh Committee will take up the issue of upgrading the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) into Tripura State Council, if they come to power in the ensuing ADC elections.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Pradesh committee on Saturday released party manifesto for the general election to Tripura Tribal Areas and Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) in presence of BJP state observer Sunil Deodar.
Releasing the manifesto BJP Spokes Person Arun Kanti Bhowmik on Saturday said that the party would place a proposal to the central government seeking direct funding to the ADC allocated for the overall development of the tribal people. The BJP also promised to set up Language Research Institute with an eye to strengthen the Kokborok language, if they come in power.
The manifesto also highlighted to build a model village at every zone. The BJP would also keep eye to reject the existing Dumbur hydro electric project to arrange rehabilitation for the refugee families at Dumbur, said Bhowmik.
Bhowmik also said that the party would also provide compensation and rehabilitation to the families affected by militants and wire fencing at the bordering areas. Besides, the BJP would also take a proper plan to fill up all the vacant posts in ADC areas, with separate recruitment policy of ADC, if they come to power.
However on Saturday BJP state observer Sunil Deodar along with other leaders remained present at the party office during the releasing programme of Party manifesto for the ADC poll.
The TTAADC election is scheduled to be held on May, 3 2015. The party had earlier demande for central paramilitary forces for the ADC poll.
