KAMALPUR, APRIL 25 (TIWN): In a stunning move, the Congress-TMC led Halhuli Panchayat under this subdivision filed a Writ Petition in the Honorable High Court against six parties including the Union of India, State of Tripura and others. Pradhan (Village Headman) Anil Das, who is also a petitioner, demanded that, “The unwanted bossism of Panchayat Samity regarding political interest and the continuous deprivation by the Block Authority regarding IAY houses led us to file the petition.”

In last three-tier Panchayat election, the Halhuli Panchayat was captured by the Congress-TMC coalition. From then o the Panchayat is being deprived in different schemes. On 22/09/2014, 10/11/2014 the Durgachowmuhani Block sanctioned some IAY houses to 30 GPs. But the most populated Halhuli GP got the least share of 02 and 08 houses respectively. Then the Halhuli Panchayat authority protested against this deprivation to the BDO and the Chairman of the Panchayat Samiti. Then the Samity issued 4 more houses to the Panchayat but completely denying and avoiding the Panchayat body.

After that, the Pradhan9Village Headman) Anil Das and another member Ratan Chanda filed a Writ Petition bearing number WP(C)- 127/2015 to the High Court on 10/04/2015. The Union of India, the State of Tripura, the DM and Collector, Dhalai District, the BDO Durgachowmuhani Block and another two are parties in this case.
