AGARTALA, April 24 (TIWN): Most areas of the city are facing load shedding of at least one to two hours per day. As a result the life of people has become miserable here in the State.
The highest demand of power was recorded 201 MW. But the power plants were hardly able to generate half of its demand, said a highly placed of TSECL.
The TSECL source added that the deficit of power has forced the TSECL to maintain load-shedding across the state with increased timing. As the situation stands, Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) has started massive load shedding to maintain the deficit in power supply.
Due to frequent fault in the production units, TSECL has increased the load shedding time to one and half hours, but due to continuous faults in the power generation units, the people of Tripura have been facing unprecedented power cut problem for last few days. TSECL sources said that the TSECL could not supply the power as per state's highest power demand. As a result, TSECL has started frequent load shedding almost in entire state.
