AGARTALA, April 20 (TIWN): The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the state govt. to investigate the Kalpana Das murder case is interrogating accused Jiten das and brothers at two different police stations as ordered by the court on Saturday. According to the Ranirbazar police the accused persons are undergoing custodial trial at New Capital Complex Police Station and West Agartala Police Station. However, but yet after the passage of two days police had failed to recover the sharp sutting toll which was used to kill Kalpana Das.It is worthy to be mentioned here that according to the source, earlier Jitens’ younger brother Satindra Das disclosed some evidences with the police during the interrogation.

Besides, after the accused Jiten Das on Saturday stated that all the documents and bank pass books of his wife Kalpana is with SDPO Rajendra Dutta, a source of police on a telephonic conversation with TIWN on Sunday evening said, “Some 4 to 5 Gramin Bank fixed deposit certificates of deceased Kalpana Das is kept her sister’s house, but there is no bank pass books and any other documents with her.” Source also cleared, “Lack of security at Jiten Das’ house led Kalpana to keep her bank certificates at her sister’s house.”

“There is a total of Rs. 9 lakh fixed deposits in the name of Kalpana Das with Jiten Das as a nominee,” source said.

However besides, a highly placed source of Police on a telephonic conversation with TIWN said, “In this case accused Jiten Das had took an active part in killing his wife Kalpana Das.” Briefing the case source added, “Before Kalpana was murdered she was over dosed with a sleeping pills by Jiten Das, and later during the dawn hours Jiten with the help of others might have killed Kalpana by cutting her neck at first and then the nerves of her leg.”

“Jiten Das has a habit of waking up early at the morning, and taking the advantage of it very daringly he had killed his wife,” source added. Source also said that police is of course investigating the case to trace out the others involved to the case.

According to the source Jiten Das is very daring in nature and often used to torture his wife Kalpana Das. Besides, the source also added that Jiten used to know all about Kalpana’s fixed deposits made at bank and he was also aware of its maturity date.

“Might be because of it Jiten killed his wife Kalpana so that he can withdraw the entire amount from the bank as a nominee of it,” said source.
