KHOWAI, April 19 (TIWN): Barely a day passed by that CPI-M leader Jiten Das’ wife Kalpana Das was found killed at her living room at Ranirbazar area, another man was found killed at Khowai at the kitchen room of his house. However, Police called the deceased wife Suparna Debnath (42) and her two sons Animesh Debnath (29) and Ashish Debnath (22) for interrogation at the police station. Suparna Debnath is a Khowai local Panchayat member.

The deceased was identified as Agoni Debnath a resident of Bipudoy Chowmuhni under Uttan Chebri Gram Panchayat at Khowai Sub-Division. The incident occurred on Saturday night after victim Agoni Debnath came to his house from his work.

Allegedly, his wife Suparna Debnath along with his two sons attacked her husband Agoni with a sharp vegetable cutter at the kitchen room of their house at Agoni’s neck and left him dead at the nearby pond. However later when their daughter Uma Debnath wakes up during morning hours she had seen her father Agoni dead floating on pond water.

Later, Khowai SP Rati Ranjan Debnath along with SDPO (Khowai) Jyotishman Das Chowdhury, OC Narayan Chakroborty getting an alarm rushed to the spot and recovered the dead body of Agoni Debnath and sent for the post mortem. Police said, “According to the post mortem report Agoni was murdered.”

It was revealed that accused wife Suparna Debnath was having an extra marital affair with another man of the area whereas her two sons Animesh Debnath and Ashish Debnath often used to endorse the illegal relation of their mother Suparna. Two sons Animesh and Ashish was allegedly drunk on that time.  

On Saturday night wife Suparna and two sons broiled with deceased Agoni Debnath regading the illegal relation of Suparna, and later she managed to kill husband Agoni by a sharp cutter. Several injury marks were also found on deceased Agoni’s body.

Reportedly, the man with whom Suparna was having an extra marital affair often used to come to her house in absent of Agoni Debnath. Besides the two son also often used to endorse the relation of her mother with the man.

No arrest has been made yet in regrd of the case. However, asked about the incident, Khowai SP Rati Ranjan Debnath informed, “Police is investigating the case with wife Suparna and her two sons were brought to the police station for interrogation.” He also said, “The sharp cutter which was used to kill Agoni Debnath  was not recovered yet.”

Besides, it is to be mentioned here that most likely police would arrest all the three accused persons very soon on charge of killing Agoni Debnath.
