AGARTALA, April 19 (TIWN): Killer husband Uttam Sarkar on Saturday gets life term imprisonment with Rs. 5000 fined by the court on charge of killing his wife Chandi Sarkar (Das) during the year 2007.
Uttam Sarkar surrendered before the police during the year 2013 saying that he had killed his wife. The incident occurred on January 1, 2007 after the accused husband killed his wife Chandi Sarkar (Das) by a sharp cutter.
However court on Saturday verdicts the accused husband Uttam Kumar for life term imprisonment along with fined him Rs. 5000.
During the year 2007 Uttam Sarkar a resident of Melagarh came to his in-law’s house at Barjala and killed his wife Chandi Sarkar (Das) by a sharp cutter. The incident took place during the dawn hours. It was alleged that killer husband often used to torture his wife doubting an extra marital affair between his wife and another.
But since then police failed to arrest him. Later accused Uttam surrendered before the police on 2013.
