AGARTALA, April 18 (TIWN): Finally, state government has increased the wages of an amount of Rs.12 for MGNREGA workers with effect from April 1, 2015 With the decision of wage hike, as many as 6.35 lakh MGNREGS beneficiaries would be benefited and they would be paid Rs.167. It may be mentioned here that MGNREGA had always been given better output in the state in terms of creation of rural infrastructure and agricultural extension activities were concerned and now with the output oriented MGNREGA evaluation would further enhanced the success. Tripura retained its top position for sixth consecutive term in generation of mandays under National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA).

On the other hand, during last couple of days, tension prevails in almost all the Panchayats for the due MGNREGA wages. Though the Government had assured to clear the wages, but said that the state govt. has received Rs.145 crore from the centre for the payment of the REGA wages, but later finding it insufficient to meet the wages of the state REGA workers, the state govt. had added another Rs.100 crore to clear the payment of the REGA wages to the workers.

The Government also assured that from now, REGA workers do not need to possess Aadhaar card linked to job card in order to receive the payment of REGA wages from the bank account. It is to be mentioned here that the best job guarantee scheme of India the MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National rural employment guarantee act is designed to provide job guarantee at least 100 days in rural parts of the country. Through this scheme, all the adult members (at least 18 years of age) of the any family in rural part of the country are given non-skilled work.  

The Mahatma Gandhi Nationwide Non-urban Career Assurance Act (MGNREGA) is an Indian job guarantee program, presented by regulation on Aug 25, 2005.
