BELONIA, April 17 (TIWN): As many as 12 students of class VI and class VII of Belonia Govt. English medium Higher Secondary School fell ill with pox on Thursday. The incident occurred after the students went to the school as usual.
The incident took place on Thursday morning at around 11:00 AM after some students of Class VI and VII went to the school and fell uncomfortable. The students were found itching at the classroom.
Later following the incident the school Head Master Balaram Sen informed the concerned Sub-Divisional Medical Officer (SDMO). A total of 4 medical team lead by Dr. Sourav Das rushed to the school and checked at least 52 students and has collected the blood samples. Later 12 students were detected with pox.
However, the doctors suggested the students to attend the school for at least one week. According to the doctors the students were detected with pox either because of a weather change or because of a rich food that they had taken during the Pohila Boishakh.
The incident has triggered tension among the guardians after their child were found detected with pox.
