AGARTALA, April 15 (TIWN): CPI (M) leader Goutam Das yet again on Assam Rifles B.K. Panwar issue shot back at Sudip Roy Barman and said, “No doubt Sudip is a very good dramatist in television screen but he could not learn much from former leader Ratan Lal Nath, hence I suggest him to take admission on Drama school and secure good prestige there.” However, but it would be wise enough to comment here that such a statement as “good dramatist” is absolutely unexpected from one political leader who belongs to the ruling party. The comment of the CPI (M) on Tuesday came after the opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman coming down heavily on CM Manik Sarkar’s allegation against the Assam Rifles; demanded CM’s apology from Assam Rifles. It is to be recalled here that Barman also said, “Either CM will seek apology or he will be called as an anti-national element.”

Das might have forgotten that till date since after CM has brought the allegation, no legal proof could the ruling CPI (M) provide against the Assam Rifles. Even it is to be mentioned here that the ruling CPI (M) and the state govt. had failed to face the challenge of the Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman.

However hitting back to Sudip’s statement on Tuesday CPI (M) leader Goutam Das said, “Question does not arise here for CM to seek apology from anyone in regard of AR issue, because the allegation is not against the paramilitary forces of AR, but the then chief of the force.”

“Not against the Assam Rifles as a whole, but particularly the then commander B K Panwar. He assisted the banned militant group NLFT and its political wing IPFT to grab the ADC. Rather they allowed the militants to do rigging with the help of arms," he said.

Das also said that the opposition congress is now on a spree to dirt the clean image of CM Manik Sarkar in wake of the ADC poll. “Barman unnecessarily making the water dirty to stage a malicious campaign,” Das said.

Congress leader Sudip Roy Barman had earlier said that Sarkar, who also holds the Home Minister's portfolio, must clarify his stand on the issue.
