AGARTALA, April 13 (TIWN): With a serious allegation raised by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar during the ADC campaign accusing former Assam Rifles Brigadier, the opposition Congress on Monday tied a knot of 24 hours for Manik Sarkar to prove a legal proof of his statement. Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman on Monday confirmed the surprising statement of CM Manik Sarkar by showing a video clip at Agartala Congress Bhawan. In the video clip Sarkar was found to have accused the former Assam Rifles Brigadier B.K. Panwar in wake of the upcoming general election to Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) declared to be held on May 3, 2015. CM Manik Sarkar, on April 11 kicking off the campaign at Khumlung ADC area for the crucial election on May 3 to elect 28 members Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) accusing the opposition, alleged, “the former Assam Rifles Brigadier in Tripura B.K. Panwar inspite of playing a pivotal role in May, 2000 ADC election had played a conspiracy against the Left front govt. here and captured the ADC with the help of INPT, IPFT and Congress.â€
Video Clip: CM said, “The state govt. had tried to undertake the matter with the then central govt., but unfortunately the govt. along with the top officials acting on behest of the Assam, Rifles takes no stock of the situation and has taken no step against the Assam Rifles.”
However, following such unworthy statement and a serious allegation raised by CM in wake of the ADC poll here in Tripura, Barman on Monday holding a press conference said, “I request CM Manik Sarkar to provide a legal proof of the allegation that he raised recently within 24 hours from now.” Barman believed, “If Manik Sarkar can make such a serious note against the Assam Rifles which is the major counter- insurgency force in the northeast, than probably Sarkar must have hold a legal proof against it.”
Adding to it Barman today tied a knot of 24 hours for CM to provide the legal proof for the sake of public’s interest.
However but it is to be mentioned here that with such a serious allegation raised by Tripura CM Manik Sarkar against the Assam Rifles former Brigadier Panwar in wake of the ADC poll, the Left front govt. in Tripura would of course have to shoulder another embarrassment for Sarkar. Sarkar, had once again proved the Left front’s muck image noting such an embarrassing statement against the Assam Rifles, which had sacrificed the life of several forces for the mother land.
What more left with the left front govt. here which comes out highlighted everyday for its alleged link to corruptions and scams. It was only the CM Manik Sarkar who earlier stated that the Assam Rifles, along with the BSF, TSR and Police has brought the insurgency problems down here in Tripura with its major achievement. But, it is again the same Manik Sarkar who recently brought such a serious allegation against the Assam Rifles and that too in wake of ADC poll.
What made Sarkar to file such a comment in the public gathering after 15 years from the year 2000? Though it’s a time now to witness if Sarkar has any legal proof against the Assam Rifles, which he says, “Plotted against Left front govt. of Tripura.” The 24 hours tied to Sarkar would now speak the real entity of the Left front govt.
