AGARTALA, April 13 (TIWN): Even after the announcement of the pay scales and allowances for its 161,000 employees by the state Left front govt. no major solution was brought to the 15 years deprivation of the govt. teachers of the state. The Tripura Govt. Teachers’ Association (TGTA) on Monday held a press conference at Agartala Congress Bhawan crying for central Grade Pay and Pay Band.

Talking to the media persons on Monday TGTA President Partha Sarathi Halder said, “Inspite of the announcement of the central pay scale for the govt. employees here in Tripura, there lies a vast difference between the central pay structure and current pay structure of the Tripura govt. teacher employees.”

“The Left front govt. has not yet brought any solution to the long term deprivation of the govt. teachers here, rather it is a preplanned move of the govt. to fool the state govt. employees in wake of the election knocking at the door,” Halder maintained. He alleged that the left front govt. has been depriving its employees since the year 1999.

He also alleged, “The way stet govt. has recently announced the central pay scale for its employees, it is not at all relevant to the actual central pay scale.” Adding to it he said when the 7th pay commission will kick start, the deprivation of the state govt. employees here would turn worst.

However, it is worthy to be mentioned here that to pacify its aggrieved employees seeking central government pay scales, the Tripura government on March 31, 2015 announced pay scales and allowances for its 161,000 employees. Currently, state government employees and pensioners get dearness allowance of 69 percent while the central government employees get 107 percent.

But, most interestingly even after the announcement of the central pay scale, the teachers’ body continued crying for a central pay band alleging that the Left front govt. has been fooling the govt. employees keeping its trend. Several teachers maintained that no major solution was brought to the deprivation of the state govt. employees.
