AGARTALA, April 11 (TIWN): Tripura Panchayat Employees Association (TPEA) organized their 13th state level conference regarding their 44 point of demands at Agartala Press Club on Saturday.

Addressing in the conference chairman of TPEA Manika Chakraborty said that the opportunist Congress and BJP shed tears for poor only at the time of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections and then quickly forget their plight after assuming power. “Both the parties are now crying for the poor because the Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections are approaching. But, they will forget them after assuming power. So, there is need for an alternative based on common policies to fight against these two parties,” said Chakraborty.

Manika Chakraborty described Congress and BJP as two sides of the same coin and are favouring the corporate houses and black marketers. “The Congress has always been for businessman and bureaucrats; it has never worked for the common people. With the election approaching, BJP is now seeking votes stating that the party will change the country. Both the parties have the same economic policies, which favours monopoly capitalists. They are either side of same coin,” said Chakraborty. She appealed to the voters to make the Left Front candidates winners in the Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections with record votes to fulfill the demands of the state.

She said that the anti-people policies of Congress have intensified the economic crisis reflected in farmer suicides, acute unemployment and impoverishment of the poor and enrichment of the rich in India.

The CPI-M is committed to fight for accomplishing the basic demand of the Indian youth; “Jobs for all, Education for all”. It pledges to organize and conduct struggle against the menace of unemployment and to fight for employment or unemployment allowance till employment and to conduct propaganda and agitation for the inclusion of the ‘Right to work’ as a fundamental right under the Indian Constitution.
