Agartala, April 10 (TIWN):The investigating officer appointed for multi – crore National Health Mission addl. SP Nabadeep Jamatia today meet Mission Director of NHM Dr. Sandeep Mahatme. The officer meets to collect documents required for investigation.However there are no report of any arrest after an FIR was lodged on Tuesday at Kailashar police station by the mission director.It is mentionable here that FIR was lodged against five Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) and ten medical officers in charge ( MOICs) in undivided North district.
In the name of implementing various programmes/ schemes under national flagship programme- National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), financial anomalies of Rs. 4.47 crore,
The financial anomalies was unearthed by than DM of Unakoti distirct Abhishek Chandra, thereafter the matter was brought to the notice of NHM. After internal audit the multi crore scam was unearthed. After pressure from opposition the government was forced to asked the Mission Director of NHM to investigate the allegation of misappropriation of funds. After getting the government order, the Mission Director had visited the CMO office and seized all relevant documents related to the NHM.
In course of investigation, the Mission Director had asked the CMOs and MOICs to produce document in support of spending NRHM outlay since 2006. However, they could not submit statement showing proper receipt and payment statement.
Having failed to get clarification from five CMOs and ten MOICs, the Mission Director lodged FIR against 17 health officials and other staff.The FIR name accused persons include the incumbent CMO Dr. Alok Dewan, Dr. Anindita Chakma (MOIC, Pecharthal), Dr. Subrata Das (MOIC, Kanchanpur), Dr. Dipak Haldar and Debasish Tarafdar.Addl SP Nabadwip Jamtia as Investigating Officer by police authority to investigate the scam.
