AGARTALA, April 10 (TIWN): Following the ensuing Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election here in the state which will be held on May 03 Police and Border Security Force (BSF) has been maintaining an extreme vigil in the 856 km-long Indo-Bangla international border in Tripura.
Continuous vigilance in the context of political chaos in Bangladesh and to prevent the infiltration throughout the border in Tripura has been strengthened by police and Border Security Force (BSF).
Tripura Police and Border Security Force (BSF) are jointly working to aggravate any attempt of infiltration by criminals from Bangladesh.
Special security measures are being taken in the fenced areas of Indo-Bangla border.
Mobile Task force personnel have been deployed in several locations within the state to detect the presence of any illegal infiltration.
According to police sources, the state police had started standard precautionary measures in urban and rural areas. “We have started checking and frisking vehicles in the urban areas. Foot patrols and mobile patrols were increased in the rural areas; focus was laid on distant villages”, the source added.
Deployment of security forces have been made at railway stations, motor stands, markets and crowded places, the source mentioned.
