AGARTALA, April 9 (TIWN): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah will visit the state on April 27 ahead of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election here in the state. And he will also take stock of the current organizational strength of the party.

Taking TIWN on Wednesday President of Bharatiya Janata Party Tripura Unit Sudhindra Dasgupta said the Tripura unit of the BJP is eagerly waiting for party national president Amit Shah's state visit onApril 27.

He further said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tripura State committee has demanded for the fast completion of the border fencing work along the Indo-Bangla border at Tripura.

Besides, the BJP also demanded for central forces for the upcoming TTAADC election here in the state, he added.

BJP has also decided to prepare a roadmap for ensuring development of northeast region and strengthening its base in various states there. The decision was taken at a meeting of party office bearers with party chief Amit Shah at New Delhi, said Das Gupta recently.

According to Sudhindra Dasgupta, Shah will be here to review the progress of the ongoing membership drive under which the party State unit has been given a target of enrolling 4 lakh members.

Shah has reportedly asked the party State unit to expand base at the grassroots-level by enrolling a minimum of 100 members from different communities and cross-sections of society in each of the polling booths.

Meanwhile, party workers are also spreading awareness about its ideology and the goals set by its top brass to take it closer to people. Party leaders are visiting every district to get the public’s feedback on BJP’s success and what it holds for the country’s future.

"We need to launch a strong movement against the CPI (M) and discard the politics of Congress. We have no doubt in snatching power from the CPI (M) in the next Assembly elections in this state," he said.
He warned unless CPI-M stop politics of violence and corruption in the administration, BJP would continue to fight both politically and physically for betterment of the state and for any untoward incident Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will be held responsible.
