State likely to achieve 92 percentage successes in vaccination

AGARTALA, April 6 (TIWN): The state will be able to cross the target of 92 percent vaccination for children and pregnant mothers.

 On the other hand national average of vaccination was 65 percent in last year which revealed though a survey. The NRHM sources gave this information. It is mentionable that the state fixed up target of 100 percent vaccination in the last year.

The average of vaccination was 87 percent in the last year. Meanwhile the state is going to start special vaccination campaign in this month named Mission Indradhanuk. Union Health Ministry started the special campaign.

The Ministry has taken the initiative to rectify the national average in vaccination. State Vaccination Officer of National Health Mission Madhusudan Choudhury said 201 districts selected out of 632 districts in the country for the mission. Three districts have been selected for the mission out of 8 districts in the state. The mission will be conducted at Dhalai, North and West Tripura district. The programme will continue for 4 months. The campaign will be conducted from 7th to 13th in every month. The ASHA and health workers will prepare the list of children and mothers list for vaccination in rest of the period in the month. NRHM mission sources said that 87 percent of target of vaccination fulfilled in 2013-14. Vaccination of 53,000 children and more than 58,000 mothers completed during that period. Sources said that the vaccination started in 2014-15 fixing target of 100 percent completion. According to sources 76 percent of the target has already been fulfilled till January, this year. It is expected the target will reach up to 92 to 95 percent till the end of 2014-15 Financial Year.
