Chief Justice attends CM and CJ National conference

AGARTALA, April 6 (TIWN): Chief Justice of Tripura High Court Deepak Gupta and law Secretary Data Mohan Jamatia participated in the Chief Minister and Chief Justice conference in Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Sunday.

Chief Justice of India H.L. Dattu on Sunday urged chief justices and chief ministers in states to uphold the constitution in "letter and spirit".

"The ultimate goal of all of us is to serve the people of India upholding the letter and spirit of the constitution. Our forefathers have defined and declared our common goal within this sacred constitution," he said in his address to a joint conference of chief ministers and chief justices of the high courts here.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar did not attend in the Judges conference due to some unavoidable reasons. Law Secretary Data Mohan Jamatia represented the state in the Judges conference.

According to sources, during his stay in Delhi Law Secretary Data Mohan Jamatia will supervise the teachers related Special Leave Petition (SLP) which is schedule to be heard in the register court of the apex court on April 06.

Register General will decide in which court the Special Leave Petition (SLP) will come up for hearing.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Justice of India H L Datta and other Supreme Court and High Court judges are scheduled to present in the conference, the source mentioned.
