AGARTALA, April 5 (TIWN): A women was injured and at least 50 houses damaged and unspecified number of people displaced from their homes due to storm accompanied by heavy rains on Saturday lashed several parts of Tripura, leaving behind a trail of destruction.
The pre-monsoon rains, which entered the northeastern state on Friday, accompanied by strong winds and hailstorm, also damaged more than 100 houses and killed many head of cattle across Tripura during the few days.
Hundreds of trees, telephone and electric poles were uprooted in the squall, and also severely affected the movement of vehicles.
