AGARTALA, April 4 (TIWN): Former Finance Minister Badal Choudhury today confessed that the Rose Valley Chit fund company had illegally acquired land to set up the park at Agartala Amtali area. Talking to the media persons here at the Civil Secretariat today Minister Choudhuri said that the State Govt. was aware of the illegal trading business of the rose valley since the year 1998. But Minister today denying the allegation against Manik Sarkar said that CM has not patronized the Rose Valley and its business. He later asked the media persons to prove it. Besides, asked about why knowing every fact Chief Minister went to the inauguration programme of the rose valley, Choudhuri said, “You may ask the persons who went there at the programme, because I do not have anything to comment here, as I did not go there.” Opp leader Sudip Barman yesterday alleged that Rose valley paid handsome amount of cash of Rs. 350 crore to some CPI (M) leaders including Manik Sarkar’s sister Anita Sarkar.Choudhury said that Tripura was the first state at the nation which has demanded for the CBI probe on chit fund companies, while the fact is it was Assam who had first demanded for the CBI probe.

Choudhuri argued today to prove that CPM and Chief Minister was not aware of Rose Valley's criminal intents but   no one among public in Tripura is ready to buy these face-saving stories.

Adding to that he said after the state govt. became aware of the illegal trading of the rose valley and other chit fund companies here at the state, it has taken several necessary steps to deal with the issue, with which a high level committee was also formed by the state govt.

Choudhuri said the rose valley chit fund company was not having the license of RBI and neither SEBI, inspite of that the authority started their illegal trading here at Agartala opening a branch.

However, it is worthy to be mentioned here that recently the opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman accusing CM Manik Sarkar said that inspite of knowing the illegal trading of the rose valley he went to the inaugural programme of the company to patronize it. But here today the statement of Badal Choudhuri has again led the issue to face another censure.
