AGARTALA, April 4 (TIWN): The election commissioner for Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) issued notification as per provision under subrule (2) of Rule 14 calling upon all the 28 constituencies today.

The submission of filling nomination of filling nominations papers will begin from today after the issue of election notification. The aspirants would be able to file their nomination papers till April 11. Nomination papers would be scrutinized on April 13. In necessary the candidates may withdraw their nomination papers by April 16. The election will be held on May 03 and counting will take place on May 06.

The term of office of the present Autonomous District Council will expire on May 19. As a result the process of general election to the district council requirement to be completed before the date of expiry of the present district council.

The election commission has decided to use EVMs in the general election to district council in all polling stations. Adequate numbers of EVMs have been made available and all steps have taken to ensure that the polls are conducted smoothly with the help of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM’s).

Altogether seven lakh fifty eight thousand five hundred fifty four voters will exercise their franchise in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections.
