Student beaten up severely at Agartala Metro Bazaar mall: Police arrests three

AGARTALA, March 31 (TIWN): Police on Monday arrested at least three sales men of Metro Bazaar mall situated at Agartala after one student was beaten up severely inside the mall on Sunday evening. However later following the incident the Student Federation of India (SFI) placed a deputation with SDPO Rajendra Dutta today demanding for the arrest of the culprits soon.

The three arrested were identified as Sourav Roy Choudhuri, Mithun Roy Singh and Sumanta Sarati Ghosh. All of them are the sales men of the mall.  

The incident occurred on Sunday evening after one Agartala Arts College 2nd year student identified as Baptu Debnath was severely beaten up by some sales men of Agartala Metro Bazaar inside the mall. Baptu Debnath went to the mall to buy clothes for him, and later some of the concerned sales man doubted him as a thief and then they managed to beat him severely and left injured. However but, after the sales men were found guilty the other customers inside the mall broke some of the accessories inside the mall.

Later getting an alarm the West PS police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. The police today arrested the three sales men of the mall. They were produced before the court, Police said.
