AGARTALA, March 29 (TIWN): Alleging that the trade license and other requisite clearance were given by the state authorities to the chit fund companies and almost all of them were inaugurated by the ruling party representatives, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Leader Sudip Roy Barman along with others met Governor P. B. Acharya on Saturday at Raj Bhawan and demanded for a CBI investigation on all the NBFCs that has looted crores of money from the common mass of the state.

CLP alleged that a serious nature of financial crime has been committed by the state government in connivance with the CPIM party in power. Saying that the financial crimees under the regime of the Left front govt. need to be unearthed and this can only be done through CBI investigation.

However, later reacting on the chit fund scam Governor P. B. Acharya assured the CLP delegation that he will talk to the higher authorities at Delhi in this regard and will take a necessary actions.

The CLP today stated that after immense pressure from the opposition parties the state government on May 12, 2013 referred cases and on May 27, 2013 another 10 cases to the CBI for investigation. The CBI out of 37 cases being forwarded by the state govt. has accepted only five cases and expressed reservation in pursuing remaining 32 cases as the amount is relatively small.

This amount was intentionally shown by the state government to protect the Chief Minister from being investigated by the CBI, alleged the CLP today during their meet with the Governor. However, later the CLP today demanded for a CBI investigation to all the NFC companies that once existed at the state and has collected crores of money from the depositors and fled from the state.
