AGARTALA, March 27 (TIWN): “Ideal Girl Child Award” under west Tripura District was organized today at Agartala Sukanta Academy with a total of 6 ideal girls under each block i.e. 54 girls child under the West Tripura District was felicitated and warded today with Rs. 3000 each in the programme. Dilip Das (Sabbhadipati, west Tripura Zila Parishad) inaugurated the programme.

A total of 3 ideal girls of 1-6 years of age group and 3 girls from 7-12 years age group have been selected from each block following different selection criteria under the Chairmanship of respective Block Development Officers under the west district (Tripura). However the goal of the programme today was to imbibe the sense of respect and dignity for the girl child in the society.

However for the purpose of awareness on “Save the girl child” issue and disseminating the significance Pre Conception and Pre Natal Diagnostic Technique Act in the society a programme named “Ideal Girl Child Award” has been formulated under National Health Mission for state Tripura and the same is also being implemented under the west Tripura district.

AMC Mayor Dr. Prafullajit Sinha along with Tripura Commission for Women (TCW) Chairperson Purnima Roy and others remained present during the inaugural programme today.
