AGARTALA, March 21 (TIWN):Tripura Madrassa (SPQEM) Teachers’ Association on Saturday organizes rallies against six charters of demands. At present, 51 Madrassa schools are operating under Grant-in-Aids scheme. In a recent reply in the State Legislative Assembly, it is informed that under SPQEM scheme, 169 Junior Madrassa schools are operating. Whereas 16112 studies were enjoying the facility of Madrassa schools. At present, two types of Madrasa schemes are functioning in the State: namely Grant-in-Madrasas & centrally sponsored Scheme for Providing Quality Education in Madrasas (SPQEM).
The demands placed by the Association are mentioned below:
1. To regularize all SPQEM Madrassa Teachers as per decision taken on 31.12.2009 by the Madrassa Advisory Committee along with rest existing SPQEM Teachers.
2. To bring 129 SPQEM Madrassa under Grant-In-Aid scheme.
3. To open a Graduate Level Madrassa College during the session 2015-16 to ensure higher studies of Fazil (H.S) pass out students.
4. To form a Madrassa Board of Tripura as early as possible.
5. To provide Honorarium to all SPQEM Honours Graduate Teachers according to the advertisement of Govt. of Tripura in the year 2010 and enhancement of Honorarium of Under Graduate SPQEM Teacher.
6. To provide all kind of facilities to the SPQEM Teachers according to the Other State Government’s employees.
Earlier, Tripura State SPQEM Madrassa Teachers Association submitted a memorandum to School Education Director with 5 point charter of demand including development of Madrassa education and pay – scale of teachers.
