Agartala, March 18 (TIWN): A District level joint mock drill on earthquake disaster with district stake holders was conducted on March 18 at District-West Tripura. The mock drill will be constituted at Ramthakur College, Siphard, Shyamali Apartment, ARDD, Jirania and Mohanpur. On this occasion, Alok Kumar Singh, Commandant First Bn NDRF told that†these exercises ensure activation and prompt response of all stake holders in a district and such frequent mock drills also make the distinct response system more effective and result oriented at the time of actual disaster. Mock drills provide suitable platform and sustainable mechanism for State and Central authorities for synchronization and rapid employement of rescuers at District or State level. These exercises should be frequently conducted in every district as the whole NE region falls under high risk zone in terms of earthquake.â€- He further added.
District authorities, volunteers, NGOs and local publics were involved in the joint mock drill, after the exercise de-briefing session was done in which role of NDRF was highly appreciated by huge gathering of local public civil administration in successfully conducting the joint mock drill. According to collected Data the NDRF team yet has sensitized people of Tripura through various programme like CAP (91113 pers), CBP (1083pers). Other than that eleven mock drills in different places of Tripura also given training to 141 SDRF pers.
It is to be mention that to ensure effective response by all stake holders, officials in case of emergency, C-3 Team of 1st BN NDRF took active participation and played a leading role during the mock drill. This C-3 Team is specially permanently deployed in CTI Gokul Nagar District-Sepahijala for effective disaster response across the State as it falls under 5th seismic zone on disaster map of our country.
