AGARTALA, March 16 (TIWN): The Bar Council of Tripura (BCT) and other lawyers of the state today remained abstain from work to show solidarity for the lawyer who was killed on the premises of an Allahabad district court on Wednesday.
Bar Council president Pijush Kanti Biswas said that Wednesday's incident showed there was no security even inside the court premises for judges, advocates and litigants.30-year-old advocate Nabi Ahmed was shot dead allegedly by sub-inspector Shailendra Singh inside the district court premises in Allahabad. The policeman still remains untraceable.
An FIR had been lodged at the Colonelganj police station in Allahabad by the deceased advocate's father, Mohd Shahid Siddiqui. Mr. Siddiqui was present at the spot along with his elder son Nafees when Nabi was shot at by Singh.
