Agartala, March 12 (TIWN): The countdown for entry of broadgauge rail engine to Bishalghar, Sepahijala district had begun. It is accepted by March , 2016 people of Bishalghar would witness the rail engine. Laying of tracks from Agartala – Bishalghar station is complete. On Wednesday, the construction agency rolled trolley on the track from Agartala – Bishalghar station for the first time. Hundreds of people witnessed the rolling of trolley on both side of the track.
A senior official of the construction agency S. Pandey told TIWN that before the arrival of this monsoon laying of broad gauge track till Udaipur station form Agartala would be completed. Right now expect one kilometer in between from Bishalghar to Bisramganj work is completed. The incomplete part is over bridge over NH 44 at Bisramganj.The official said all bridges and culverts till Udaipur station are complete, remaining work is carried out on war footing.
An outlay of Rs.500 crore has been provided for the 110-km Agartala-Sabroom (India-Bangladesh) new rail link during 2014-15.An expenditure of around Rs.596 crore had been incurred till March 2014 on the rail link. The project has been taken up at a cost of Rs.1,741 crore .
