Agartala, February 26 (TIWN): The negligence of State Government in proper construction of roads appears to be night mare for the people. Most of the roads were engaged with stone chipps and cements, which appears as a leading cause of deadly accidents. Though huge amount of money are being invested for this purpose, a greater amount is being looted by the corrupt officials.

Frequent road accidents are a daily routine. It's not just common motorists who are facing a lot of inconvenience due to bad roads; the transporters too are facing a lot of hardships. The poor road conditions have increased the vehicle maintenance costs of city transporters as compared to their counterparts in state which resulted in the cause of accident Despite that According to some drivers and bike riders, the repairing works and construction of roads in dismal condition by Public Works Department (PWD) also causing few road accidents while making of road dividers by using ropes on the most crowded city roads from the traffic police department are similarly causing number of road accidents as well.

However, it is to be mentioned here that recently the central govt. had asked the state govt. to take all sorts of construction works under their guidance. Therefore this must be time now for the Tripura govt. to take necessary steps in regard of the proper maintenance of roads, especially the Agartala Amtali Khayerpur bypass road. Because the lack of maintenance of the road for a long period of time are leading the travellers to face several hurdles, especially during the rainy season.

After the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway (MoRTH) handover development and maintenance of 104 km of the Assam Agartala National Highway (NH-44) to the PWD from Border Roads Organization (BRO) in September 2013, the condition of the NH-44 is getting worse day-by-day due to negligence of PWD. According to sources, the National Highway- Dharmanagar to Panisagar, Jirania Block Tri-Junction, Champaknagar, Dolubari, Kumarghat to Pecharthal and Chandraipara have become very dangerous.

Pitiable communication from Dharmanagar Sub Division in North District to Kailasahar of North District poses a threat to the heavy vehicular movements. Sources in Dharmanagar Sub Division said that the roads between Dharmanagar and Anandabazar badly require renovation without which the communication facility is marching towards deterioration. The condition of the road from Dharmanagar to Anandabazar turns into more wretched in the rainy season which partially blocked the vehicles coming outside the state. Several potholes were detected in the roads causing trouble to the people.

But State Government turns a blind eye to the horrible condition of the common people. Despite that they found it more preferable to earn more money by looting money from different respective departments. The state government deep necked in corruption and CPIM proved that it is not the Government for the people. The Left Front do not care about peoples and there problems, they do not settle issues. The Left Front Government’s alternative policies and said that those are against common people. Though CM Manik Sarkar claimed His tenure as “Golden era”, but some glimpses revealed the actual fact.
