AGARTALA, February 25 (TIWN): “We will win the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election here in the state and we have already launched a strong movement against the CPI (M) and discard the politics of Congress”, said BJP State president Sudhindra Dasgupta.

In an exclusive talk to TIWN on Tuesday at party office BJP State president Sudhindra Dasgupta said that BJP will win all the 28 seats in the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election here in the state.

He further said that the party has divided the 28 seats of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) in 7 zones and the party leaders are conducting door to door campaign in all the 7 zones.

Free and fair election to the TTAADC will not be possible under state police and Tripura State Rifles (TSR). He added that the state government has already redeployed its officers in crucial posts to hold the election.
"Realignment of insurgents to influence the election in the hills of Tripura has already begun," said Dasgupta. He added that the administration has been mobilized to exert pressure on the opposition supporters in TTAADC areas to cast vote for CPM.

As a result, a large number of poor tribals are facing serious hardships. Moreover, anti-CPM voters are also being harassed by police in various false cases ahead of the election, he alleged.

The BJP's state committee has already written to Union home minister Rajnath Singh seeking deployment of central paramilitary forces (CPF) for the 28-member Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) polls to be held in the state, Dasgupta mentioned.

He criticized the CPI (M) led state government over issues of spurious-drug, atrocities against women, corruption, malfunctioning of PDS, chit fund, deterioration of law and order, underdevelopment of tribal people and deprivation of employees during the agitation.

Dasgupta also criticized the tight-lipped gesture of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar over the increasing crimes and vowed to intensify party’s agitation across the state. He also urged the public to condemn the role of Chief Minister, who also holds the Home portfolio. The 22-year misrule has resulted in the state being labeled the least developed state in the country. Corruption has mushroomed in every sphere, he claimed.
