AGARTALA, February 24 (TIWN): Oppossition leader Sudip Roy Barman skips party programme today at Agartala Rabindra Bhawan, where the All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary V Narayanswami addressed the party gathering. Talking to TIWN today Barman said that he received serious injury on Monday, following which he was unable to attend the programme today.

AICC GS V Narayanswami today attended the party programme held at Rabindra Bhawan. Narayanswami addressed the party gathering. He is also slated to attend series of programmes next. However all the party leaders comprising of anti-Birajit lobby had attended the programme today except the opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman.

Talking to TIWN today Barman said that he had received injury on Monday due to which he was unable to attend the programme today.

Adding to that Barman said that he will try to meet Narayanswami tomorrow or day after.

However it is mentionable here that the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee has been facing a major revolt among the section of much hyped congress leaders ahead of the ADC election. The uproar began since after Birajit Sinha has been appointed as a new congress chief. According to a section of congress leaders, the Pradesh Congress is likely to face another setback in the upcoming ADC election here in Tripura. However but it is mentionable here that when rest of the political parties along with the regional parties has already been geared up for the election and has been making their way out to sweep the election, on the other the Pradesh Congress has been witnessed to be busy arranging programmes and meetings in wake of strengthening the party and its policy and strategies.
