Agartala, February 24 (TIWN): Settling down with all kinds of legal complications, the state government is decided to recruit new qualified teachers at earliest, said Health and PWD Minister Badal Chowdhury in a programme at Agartala here today.

 Speaking in the inaugural ceremony of newly built school building at Sahid Khudiram Bose English Medium School, he admitted that the teaching system is partially affected across the state after the cancellation of 10323 teachers’ job by the High Court of Tripura.

Laying importance on English, he further said, “Without extending English learning, it is not possible for state to set any position in national level.”

Therefore, the state government has decided to establish some English medium schools across the state and an English Medium College in the place of old Central Jail as well. The construction work for this college would be started soon and the state government is aimed to open the college within next two-three years, said Chowdhury.

“The CPI-M led state government is making different efforts to cover every individual under education across the state”, said the minister.

Terming mother tongue as sole media of education, Chowdhury stated that the state government would take different initiatives to develop it but study in English medium school adds extra significance in course of higher education.

“To adjust in working atmosphere in national level, foreign countries and to brighten the nation’s praise, the students should learn English with due importance”, said he.

MLA Gopal Roy, Director of School Education Department- PK Chakraborty and many other dignitaries along with school students and teachers attended the inaugural ceremony of newly built school building at Sahid Kshudiram Bose English Medium School.
