UDAIPUR, February 23 (TIWN): Once premiere institution of Tripura, Udaipur Ramesh Higher Secondary School is now having real chaos in maintaining day to day activities in the school. Encouraged by a section of teachers belonging to the H B Road wings, who too are learnt to be backed by a heavyweight CPI(M) MLA, are alleged to be responsible for it. For the last one year or so due to total failure of the school authorities especially Managing Committee led by its Secretary Subrata Deb and internal administration, the once prosperous school is losing its glory day by day. And about five teachers of the school belonging to H B Road lobby are behind all these chaos. Very often a group of outsiders in the name of SFI are instigated to create deadlock inside the school and the current managing committee is simply a mere puppet in the hands of ruling party leaders.

Ramesh School has always produced political giants likes of current Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, former Ministers Keshab Majumder, Gopal Das, Joy Gobinda Debroy, opposition leaders like former Ministers Nagendra Jamatia, Rato Mohan Jamatia and even current DWS Minister Ratan Bhowmik. But over the years neither Congress nor CPI (M) tried to interfere in the internal activities of the school.

Under the leadership of late Headmaster Dhirendra Chandra Datta and his efficient Deputy late Sushi Kumar Mukherjee the school assumed the reputation of undisputed No 1 in the entire undivided South Tripura District. But since 2012 a section of CPI (M) party's leaders and their puppet supporters of Udaipue led by a heavyweight MLA are now.losing a serious threat to the glory of the school. As a result of it a vast majority of parents, formers students, teachers and even a large number of dedicated teachers of the school are starting to target their finge towards the school authorities for their failure in maintaining regular discipline in schools. And it due to their failure that since he Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, a former student of this school, inaugurated the new building of the school, the current managing committee has been a pure failure to develop the infrastructure of the school. Instead of doing any work, Secretary of the Managing Committee Subrata Deb remains busy in making his own propaganda through a section of reporters of Udaipur that it was because of the continuous pressure from CM( Manikda as he used to call) and due to the then Finance Minister Badal Choudhury's insistence he had to take the responsibility of Secretary. But now under his leadership Ramesh School is heading towards losing its gutts to defy all political pressure and threats.

Very often SFI led by a few outsiders come to the school and straightway enter the school putting pressure on the girls and boys to take their membership. But in doing so the outsiders are now entering the classes after 11.15am disturbing the classes, thanks to the failure of Headmaster Incharge and the school authority, to collect membership fees. Whenever a teacher makes protests, he or she is being targeted by the outsider, obviously instigated by a section of teachers. Last Saturday such an incident took place but three teachers protested against such forcible collection of SFI collection during school hours. But two teachers of the school instigated the SFI outsiders and a group of arrogant students to make a campaign that the teachers made humiliating remarks of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.  Today just around 11am a group of outsiders gheraod the Headmaster In charge Direndra Saha demanding to take stern measures against some of the teachers as the outsiders alleged that a group of teachers namely Padma DebBarma for making insulting remarks against Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. But the fact is that there is no teacher in the name of Padma DebBarma working in the school.

It is to be mentioned here that from today the Formative Assessment 1of Class VI to VIII and First Unit Test of Class IX began. But during the exam time Headmaster Dhirendra Chandra Saha allowed the outsiders to give deputation. And during the time of deputation the agitated students created chaotic situation as they remained busy in shouting using slang words against a section of teachers. As a result of it the students faced a lot of troubles in concentrating in their examination.  The situation came to such a sorry pass that the outsiders namely SFI group even locked the main gate of the school and fid not even allow any teacher or student to enter into HM's room. As a result of it even after the completion of exam, the students, especially the girls, were forced to strand on the campus for two hours.

Interestingly, one of the agitators (a student of Class IX of this school) told this correspondent," For the last three days we were being put pressure to lodge complain against the teachers. And today SFI Divisional Committee instructed us along with more than 50 college students were compelled to go there and organize the movement. . Deb Sir and Sinha Sir forced us to make this movement."  Humiliated by today's incident a vast majority of teachers are learnt to have decided to refrain from any duties other than assigned class works.

Meanwhile, many students of this year's Madhyamik and H S (+2 Stage) exam were prevented by the outsiders while they came to collect Admit Cards. And those who had entered the school before were not allowed to come out even after collecting the admit cards as they locked the main gate too.

Reacting on today's incident two former Headmasters of the school and also many former and current senior teachers expressed their deep shock at the total weakness of the school authorities. They held the view," Once Late Dhirebdra Chandra Datta even refused the requests of former Education Minister Dasharath Debbarma to admit a student having poor marks. Even though D C  Datta himself was a hardcore Communist , he didn't compromise with the interest of the school. But today's incident showed that the school authorities have surrendered themselves to political leaders. "

A powerful CPI (M) leader, unwilling to reveal his name, told TIWN," Once we ( as former students) fought hard against the Congress outsiders to maintain the dignity of the school and the teachers. But it is quite shameful that in our own domain the school teachers are harassed on baseless allegations. It will be a great disaster as Ramesh School still has a great role to play for the society." However, academicians, students, former students, teachers as well as and parents demand that only Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's intervention can free the school from the grip of Rahu. But they too are doubtful how far CM Manik will take initiative defying his political interests.
