AGARTALA, February 22 (TIWN): Sahitya Akademi in collaboration with Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Tripura organized “A Literary Meet” at Agartala Press Club, here today.

Eminent Manipuri Writer Kh. Prakash Singh inaugurated the programme. Minister for Cultural Affairs Bhanulal Saha was present in the programme as Chief Guest. Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dr. Prafullajit Sinha was present as guest of honour. President of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Tripura unit Soibam Suresh Sinha and other dignitaries were present in the meet.

During the programme 15 person were awarded for outstanding performance in the field of Manipuri Culture, Literature and Sports for the year-2014.

A part from that awards to the meritorious Manipuri students of Tripura in appreciation of their being placed in the first division/the equivalent grade in the Higher Secondary and Madhyamik Board Examination -2013 in general along with special awards in specific/subjects were also given during the programme.
